Are You Entitled to a Legal Settlement?
Compensation claims for personal injury, automobile accidents, and medical malpractice can be complicated without professional legal representation. To make a successful claim for compensation after a personal injury, medical malpractice, or automobile accident, you must be able to prove that:
Another party breached their duty of care, which resulted directly in injury, and that the injury resulted in damages, such as pain or financial loss, or there was direct intent to cause injury.
Another party was at least 50% responsible for the injury you sustained.
The statute of limitations in Illinois also states that legal action must begin within 2 years of the injury or case of medical malpractice. If the court finds that a third party is at majority fault for your injury, they owed you a duty of care, and the case began within the time-limit, then you could be awarded compensation to cover damages, like pain, medical expenses, and loss of income.
